With help from Scientific American, I came across a very interesting and relevant study when considering the ongoing debate on banning cell phone talking while driving.

The study was published earlier this year in PLOS ONE and shows that people who consider themselves to be very good at multitasking is actually worse at it than those who are not as confident in their ability. The study also showed that those who overestimated their ability to multitask were more likely to use a cell phone while driving a car. Thus, people who should avoid talking in cell phones while driving are the ones that are most likely to do it.

In other words, cell phone chatting behind the wheel may be a sign of bad multi-tasking skills and poor self-awareness. So my advice is to avoid using your cell phone while driving. If  for nothing else, then for avoiding looking like an idiot.
