Jag har tidigare skrivit om evolutionspsykologen Geoffrey Millers klavertwittrande som gjorde att han hamnade i blåsvädret. Men Miller är inte bara känd för att håna tjockisar; han har även fått erhålla Ig Nobelpriset – en amerikansk parodi på Nobelpriset. Detta pris fick han för just en studie angående kvinnans ägglossning.
Millers studie utfördes på kvinnliga strippor och man kunde se att stripporna tjänade mer pengar när de hade ägglossning. Denna studie publicerades år 2007 i tidskriften Evolution and Human Behavior. Även denna studie tyder på att kvinnor på något sätt signalerar att de är som mest fertila och att män verkar påverkas av denna signal. Miller avslutar artikeln med att skriva att fynden är av betydelse för mänsklig evolution, sexualitet och ekonomi. Så kom ihåg det tjejer; det är alltid bäst att löneförhandla med sin manlige chef när man har ägglossning ;-).

I have previously written about evolutionary psychologist Geoffrey Miller and his twitter incidence But Miller is not only known for mocking the obese; he has also received the Ig Nobel prize – an American parody of the Nobel Prize. He received this price for a study on ovulation.
Miller’s study included female strippers and showed that strippers earned more money during ovulation. This study was published in 2007 in the journal of Evolution and Human Behavior. This study also suggests that women signal that they are fertile, and that men are affected by this signal. In the article, Miller concludes that the findings are relevant for human evolution, sexuality and economics. So remember girls, when negotiating salary with your male boss, make sure you are ovulating ;-).
